Dry Dock for Royal Thai Navy (Thailand)

The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) envisioned to develop a Dry Dock in their vast premises in Sattahip, Chonburi, Southeast of Bangkok.

The Dry Dock is located adjacent to the existing Sattahip Commercial Port. It will serve as the repair and maintenance facility of RTN’s Helicopter Support Ship (HSS), as its primary purpose, and to RTN’s smaller ships.

It may also provide services to military ships of friendly countries. The total project area is about 110 hectares, 40 hectares. Southeast Asia Technology Co., Ltd. (SEATEC) as leader and partner rendered the engineering consulting services to the Royal Thai Navy on the survey, design and construction supervision of Dry Dock which its dimension of 40×235 m and 18 m depth with equipment for the ship capacity of 2,600 dwt., arrival berth 350 m. length, refit berth 340 m. length.

Apart from the Dry Dock, other facilities are 4-storey Administration Building with a total floor area of 5,000 m2, 2 Club Houses for officers and non-officers, Sports Complex (indoor and outdoor), Residential buildings, Multi-purpose and Mess Hall, 7 workshops of 2-storey reinforced concrete factory buildings with total floor area of 6,500 m2 each; floor area of 7,500 m2 each, total floor area 52,000 m2, Roads and infrastructure, Water reservoir and raw water distribution pipe lines, Water treatment plant, Crane footing for lift capacity of 50 and 200 tons, Paving block, etc. (Phase I: Oct 1992-Jan 2000; Phase II: Sep 1996-Dec 2002).
